Koalas win! On 1 March 2016 the NSW Environment Minister announced that Tanja, Mumbulla, Murrah and Bermagui (south of the river) State Forests have been declared flora reserves. The animals are safe and priceless heritage for the local Aboriginal people is protected. Take a bow everyone who fought so hard to protect these forests.

By logging Tanja Forest NSW Forestry Corporation will increase the  fire hazard for Tathra and Tanja residents.   Act now to let them know that this is wrong. Take action now

Logging of Cpts 2102, 2108 and 2104  was originally due to start in October 2011 and has now been deferred twice, after strong community protests and koalas found in the forest. But the approved Harvest Plan is still on the Forestry Corporation website

TAKE ACTION NOW
Tell Forestry Corp that you do not want a more fire prone forest.
Logging native forest increases fire hazard by drying out the bush and creating dense, even sized and aged regrowth. Forestry denies that logging in Tanja will increase the bushfire hazard in Tanja/ Tathra.
